 Question 19 - Paul's Last Trump?   
If the Reader is a Pre-Trib Pastor or a well studied Pre-Trib student, you know that Paul's prophecy about the "Last Trump" does not exactly fit the Pre-Trib Rapture Theory. Paul said there'll be a Trumpet sound when Jesus comes to take His people to Heaven, however, Pre-Trib says Paul's "Last Trump" is not the last Trump at all, because, according to Pre-Trib, there will be another resurrection Trumpet seven years later when Jesus comes at His Second Coming. Jesus said, "And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a Trumpet, and they shall gather His Elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other" (Matt.24:31)! Paul wrote: "Behold I show you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the LAST Trump! For the Trumpet shall sound and the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed" (1Cor.15:51-52)! Concerning this same, "Last Trump," Paul also wrote, "For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the TRUMP of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first" (1Thess.4:16).  If the Trumpet Jesus spoke about and the Trumpet Paul wrote about are the same event, Paul is correctly. It will be the, "Last Trumpet" to sound as a Resurrection Trumpet for the Righteous. But, if Paul's Trumpet is seven years before Christ's Trumpet, Paul was incorrect!

Some Pre-Trib promoters say Paul was referring to the last of the Seven Trumpets in Revelation. This sounds believable, until we look closely at what really happens at that Seventh Trumpet: "And the Seventh Angel sounded; and there were great voices in Heaven saying, The Kingdoms of this earth is become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign FOREVER and EVER" (Rev.11:15)! If the Reader is a Pastor, you probably already know that, instead of this "Seventh Trumpet" prophecy helping Pre-Trib explain Paul's "Last Trump," it hurls three HUGE Un-Answerable Questions for Pre-Trib promoters to Ponder:

1- End of Tribulation
Even a casual reading of the Seven Trumpets clearly shows that this 7th symbolic Trumpet sounds at the END of the Tribulation, not the beginning. Pre-Trib says Paul's Trumpet sounds at the beginning of the Tribulation. Thus, it appears that the Trumpet Paul prophesied does correspond with the, "Seventh Trumpet of Revelation," and, the Trumpet that Jesus spoke about.

2 - Beginning of Christ's Kingdom
John prophesied that when the Seventh Angel Sounds, it is the beginning of Christ's Kingdom. But, Pre-Trib says that the Trumpet Paul prophesied about will sound seven years before Christ's Kingdom is set up.

3 - Kingdom Forever and Forever
Notice that John said the Kingdom that Jesus establishes at the Seventh Trumpet continues,"Forever and Ever!" Any Pre-Trib promoter reading the above Prophecy from John will immediately declare that the reference is to Millennial Kingdom they say Jesus sets up here on earth at His Second Coming. But, they say that Kingdom is a Millennial Kingdom, meaning it will be 1000 years in length, but John says it continues, "Forever and Ever."

Scofield Bible Footnotes
This Author has had a Scofield Study Bible as his only personal study Bible since 1980. The original cover of this Bible was soon worn out completely and is now replaced with a heavy duty leather cover. If the Reader questions that John's Seventh Trumpet is referring to the Second Coming instead of a Rapture seven years prior, take a minute to look at your Scofield Footnotes under the Seventh Trumpet. For the Readers who do not own a Scofield Bible, the note  reads as follows: "The seventh Trumpet announces the beginning of Christ's reign on earth when the kingdom of this world become the Kingdom of our Lord and occurs close to the end of the Great Tribulation" (Scofield Footnotes under Rev.11:15).

Conclusion
The Seventh Trumpet in Revelation 11:15, the Trumpet that Jesus said would sound at His Second Coming (Matt.24:31), and the Trumpet Paul wrote about in 1Thess.4:16 and 1Cor.15:52, are all the same Trumpet. If the Reader is in doubt, take a moment and examine each Trumpet in its context.  After making this comparison the truth will be very clear.  The Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write the words "Last Trump," and Paul did exactly so. Let's continue to pray for an outpouring of God's Spirit as we study His Word.
